Admission

Admission Rules of our College

Accountancy (B.Com) (Honours) : Direct admission; 55% marks in subject OR 45% marks in the subject and 50% in total (best four excluding EVS).
Bengali (Honours) : Direct admission; 60% marks in the subject OR 55% marks in the subject and 50% in total (best four excluding EVS).
Economics (Honours) : Direct admission; 55% marks in subject or related subject OR 45% marks in the subject and 50% in total (best four excluding EVS). Must pass in Mathematics at 10+2 level.
Education (Honours) : Direct admission; 55% marks in subject or related subject OR 45% marks in the subject and 50% in total (best four excluding EVS).
English (Honours) : Direct admission 60% in the subject OR 55% marks in the subject and 50% in total (best four excluding EVS).
Food & Nutrition (Honours) : Direct admission; 60% marks in the subject OR 55% marks in the subject and 50% in total (best four excluding EVS). Must pass in Chemistry (both in theory and practical separately) at 10+2 level.
Geography (Honours) : No direct admission. Forms to be distributed as per University norms. Admission will be made on the basis of merit list after preliminary interaction with the students. Educational tours for field study are mandatory for both Honours and General students.
Mathematics (Honours) : Direct admission; 55% marks in subject or related subject OR 45% marks in the subject and 50% in total (best four excluding EVS).
Philosophy (Honours) : Direct admission; 55% marks in subject or related subject OR 45% marks in the subject and 50% in total (best four excluding EVS).
Sociology (Honours) : Direct admission; 55% marks in subject or related subject OR 45% marks in the subject and 50% in total (best four excluding EVS).

⦿ Candidates passing H.S. or equivalent exams, from various Open Schools are not eligible for admission.
⦿ Candidates who had vocational course at the H.S. or equivalent exams, will have no option but to do B.A. (General) course only.
⦿ Candidates opting for Honours course of study in Bengali are not allowed to take up Geography as one of the General subjects.
⦿ Candidates who had not done a course in Geography at H.S. or equivalent exams, are not eligible to take up Honours in Geography. They are also not eligible to take up Geography as one of the General subjects.
⦿ Candidates who had not done a course in Chemistry at H.S. or equivalent exams, are not eligible to take up Honours in Food & Nutrition and to take up Chemistry as one of the General subjects in B.Sc. (General) course.

 

Admission Procedure

Students are advised to apply for admission personally in printed form priced at Rs. 100/- each, available after the publication of the results of the WE. Council/ISC/CBSE or equivalent examination. Selected applicants are required to secure their admission on full payment of the requisite fees. One of the parents or in his/her absence the local gurdian of the applicant must be present at the time of admission. Migrants from other University or Boards shall have to see the Principal personally before filling in the college admission forms.

Documents Required for Admission

A. Each selected candidate must produce the following documents at the time of admission :

1) The original mark-sheet of the last qualifying examination along with two attested photo copies of the same. (Attestation is to be done by the Headmaster/Headmistress of the School.)
2) The original Admit Card of Madhyamik /Equivalent examination along with two aattested photo copies of the same. (Attestation is to be done by the Headmaster/Headmistress of the School.)
3) Two copies of recent passport-size coloured photograph.
4) The scheduled caste/ Tribe/ OBC certificate in original along with two attested photo copies of the same (only for SC/ST/OBC candidates). (Attestation is to be done by the Headmaster/Headmistress of the School.)

B. Admission on Transfer from other colleges :

Students seeking admission to this college on transfer from other colleges should note the following points : 1) An application to the Principal on a plain paper stating the reason for seeking transfer to this college is to be submitted with attested photo copies of mark-sheets, certificates of the last qualifying examination.
2) Communication will be sent to the student in due course after getting clearence for admission on transfer.
3) The student must produce the transfer certificate in original at the time of admission.
4) The student must present himself/herself along with his/her parents/guardian at the time of admission.
